Santiago 2002

Today we had an all day trip to Santiago-about a 2 hour drive.
We had a nice drive over the mountains and thru the wine
area. Santiago is a modern thriving city. Because this Is a
earthquake prone area there are no skyscrapers, but lots
of “high rises.”

We rode up San Cristof Mt. (about 300M up) along a winding road.
Trees & plants had been brought in & planted & it was a lovely area-
quite different from natural growth usually seen. At the top was a
statue of the Virgin Mary. We had a delicious lunch at a restaurant
near the top of mt.
