Puerto Madryn 2002

Today we had a full day with a trip to the Punta Tombo Penguin
Colony. It was a three hour drive both ways with about 75 minutes
on a dirt road but you would never have thought it because our
driver put the pedal to the metal.

The penguins were fantastic Weather warm and very nice.
There were thousands of them and they just walked (waddled)
up to you. Our dining mate got a picture “talking” with one. We
spent about an hour walking amongst them. They estimate
500,000 to 1,000,000 come there in summer. Many had already
left for the season.

We chose the Penguin tour in lieu of the sea lion tour. But we did
see some on the steps of the dock, 1 large and 2 juvenile. They were
resting on the steps
