Salvador, Brazil 2002

…Today we were in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. It is a predominantly
black city the original inhabitants raised sugar cane and imported
slaves. We saw lots of dilapidated buildings. The Old Town with
cobblestone streets were much nicer. The city is known for
having a church for every day of the year. That’s an
exaggeration. There are about 167 churches.
